From our base in
"The Kingdom of Fife", Scotland, we produce crops of
Heritage/Niche Market, Conservation/Unusual and Commercial seed
and ware potatoes. We work closely with growers as far north as
Dingwall in Easter Ross to Cornhill-on-Tweed in Northumberland
with our own growing centred around St Andrews in Fife. We also
market Organic seed and ware potatoes, produced in various parts
of Scotland but primarily in Angus. |
Producers
of seed from micro-plants or mini-tubers through Pre-basic to

All our seed potatoes
are produced from High Health Standard mini-tubers or micro-plants
originating from nuclear material from the SASA Variety Bank!
All crops are subject to SASA growing crop and tuber inspections
and are classified as Basic Seed with EU grades of EC1 to EC3. |

in sourcing and producing Conservation & unusual (Red or Blue
fleshed) potatoes: |
In the case of Conservation
Varieties (i.e. those that are not on the EU Common Catalogue)
classification is as Approved Stocks, equivalent to EC2. In addition,
all Organic Seed is produced to Soil Association Standards. |

In addition to growing
commercial seed on contract for McCain Potatoes and others we
can source most varieties from our network of growers. We will
supply wholesale merchants, pre-packers & processors and direct
to seed and ware growers.
Heritage varieties are produced for horticultural seed pre-packers
and speciality growers. Conservation varieties are grown to produce
seed for speciality ware growers. Ware (eating potatoes) of our
Heritage and Conservation varieties are available from Waitrose,
Booths, farmers markets, farm shops and other retail outlets.
They are also available by Mail Order from Carroll’s Hetitage
Potatoes.
